North General Hospital’s Tenth Annual Visionary Awards Gala held October 19, 2006 was one of our most successful galas to date, raising more than $625,000 towards our Programs and Services. It is the support and generosity of our friends and donors that enables us to continue to provide first-rate healthcare and focus on prevention, health maintenance and treatment of diseases that disproportionately affect the communities of East and Central Harlem.
Our guests of honor included Barry Coller, MD, David Rockefeller Professor of Medicine and Vice President for Medical Affairs, The Rockefeller University, Mr. Basil Paterson, of the Law Firm Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., and Gregory B. Braca, Senior Lending Officer for Commerce Bank's New York Market. As supporters and friends of North General, these honorees have truly demonstrated what it means to grow with and care for the community they love.
Additionally, we had the privilege of welcoming President and CEO of Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Kenneth L. Davis, as well as Director of Public Relations of BD, Mr. Michael Marinello, as Co-Chairs to the event. Both were truly outstanding as Co-Chairs, leading the charge towards one of our most successful and enjoyable galas to date!
We were also pleased to welcome Tiffany McElroy, CW11 anchor, who served as our Master of Ceremonies. Her graciousness, humility, and composure helped keep the evening fun and running smoothly and her professionalism cannot be matched.
Gloria Reuben, best known for her role on the television drama, ER, also treated guests to a special vocal performance. Ms. Reuben’s soulful voice added an extra touch of drama and excitement to the evening and we are so grateful for the friendship she has shown us over the past couple of years.
Finally, a huge thanks to North General Hospital’s Board of Directors for their leadership and support. Each and every one of you has been instrumental in many of the hospital’s successes. You have been leaders and supporters, friends and mentors. All of you have truly become ambassadors of the mission and the work of the hospital and for that we cannot thank you enough.
