Visiting Hours
The goal of our visitors policy is to maintain a safe and comfortable
environment for our patients to regain health. So that patients can
get the rest they need, the hospital requests that patients have no
more than two visitors at a time. Patients in the Intensive Care Unit
may have only one visitor at a time. Children under 12 years of age
are not allowed to visit.
Visiting Hours in Most Patient Areas are 2:00 - 8:00pm.
Units with specific visiting hours and rules:
Intensive Care Unit
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. .
Psychiatry and MICA Units
6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, Saturday – Sunday
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Holidays
Visitors are not to interfere with the medical care being given to the
patient or to engage in any conduct detrimental to the patient’s
recovery.
Under certain circumstances permission to visit patients during other
than regular visiting hours will be provided by the patient’s attending
physician or Charge Nurse on the unit.
Directions To North General Hospital
By Public Transportation
From the East Side of Manhattan and the Bronx
Take the subway line 4, 5 or 6 to the 125th Street and Lexington
Avenue Station. Walk 1 block west to Park Avenue and then 3 blocks
south to 122nd Street.
From the West Side of Manhattan and the Bronx
Take the subway line 2 or 3 to the 125th Street and Malcolm X
Boulevard Station. Walk two blocks east to Madison Avenue and
three blocks south to 122nd Street.
MTA Bus from Manhattan
The M1 Bus runs uptown on Madison Avenue and stops in front of the
Hospital.
Metro North Station at Park Avenue/125th Street
Trains on both the Hudson Line and the Harlem Line stop at the 125th
Station. Exit the station on Park Avenue and walk south to 122nd
Street.
